Update from Commander

Brothers,
Greetings from the Hill, first I would like to update everyone on how excited our active chapter is for this year’s homecoming. As some of you have already heard these past several weeks has been a great time to be a Sigma Nu at WKU.
We rose over $5,000 from our Golf Scramble philanthropy hosted by Phi Mu, EX, and ourselves.
Last week we also placed 1st in two other Philanthropies (Kappa Delta Shenanigans and Pike Kappa Alpha Tug)
Kappa Delta Shenanigans is a philanthropy event where one sorority pairs up with two fraternities to perform a dance routine after given a theme to base the dancers around. (This year’s theme was 90s’) We practiced for weeks for our performance and took the gold home with a stellar performance. This is one of the largest philanthropy events in the Greek community at WKU so not only was this a big win for Sigma Nu but we also made the front page of the online Herald.

Pike tug is philanthropy where each organization enters a team of eight to pull in a game of Tug a war in the mud. Not only did Sigma Nu win the event, but we looked good doing it. The word around campus is that we looked like we were floating on air.
With these wins it puts good energy back into the brothers leading into Homecoming week. This year Sigma Nu is paired up with Alpha Delta Pi and Alpha Kappa Alpha sororities. Again we look forward to seeing any and all alumni that can make it in for the events Friday and Saturday.

Fraternally,
Riad Otoum
