Good evening brothers, alumni, and guests of Etarho.org! Much has transpired within the last month and it is time to bring everyone up to speed.
Parent’s Weekend was kicked off with tailgating for the parents and relatives of the brothers at brothers Carter Sleight (HP 921), Chad McGarvie (HP 880), Troy McGarvie (HP 927), and Taylor (HP 924) with brother alumni Craig Sleight (HP 458). Western Kentucky Toppers faced Morgan State and pulled out a win with the final score being 58-17. Brothers, alumni and relatives enjoyed a Bar-B-Que cookout and tailgating filled with water pong, corn-hole, and lots of conversation. Needless to say, this day was a memorable parent’s weekend that the brothers deemed the best parent’s weekend that majority have ever witnessed. We are very thankful for the loving support of our parents, as well as the support of our alumni that day to make such a memorable experience for everyone that had participated.
This year, the chapter’s fall formal was conducted in Gulf Shores, Alabama. It also goes without saying that the little taste of warm weather and the beach was heaven and bittersweet to return to school and the reality that the weather is getting colder. Candidates and brothers crammed into cars and made the six hour trek to the beach. Everyone who went (around 60) all returned with sun burns and good memories and everyone is already planning and looking forward to Spring Break.
Now, the news of Homecoming. The Eta Rho chapter will have a tent/tailgating spot in the valley (in front of McCormick, Rhodes, Gilbert) for alumni, brothers and visitors. Food will be catered, and beverages will be provided. After the game, the Augenstein Alumni Center will be throwing a party, starting at 8pm and lasting until midnight. The band Matchdaddy will be playing, the charge for members of the Alumni Association will be $20, other non-members will be charged $25. The Augenstein Alumni Center asks that all RSVPs be made by Friday, October 18th. More information is available at www.alumni.wku.edu/5thquarter2013
